Front porch of the Malaria Madhouse. Stacey Naftel rests in hammock while Bill Sherry and John Sullivan play with a neighboring monkey. All three were pilots. Lts Sherry and Sullivan were killed when their B-25 crashed on 25 Sep 1943.

An unusually fat, sacred cow atKurmitola, India, 1943. To keep cows off the porch during monsoon the guys built fences of bamboo. Chet remembers that during one monsoon they had 260 inches of rainfall.
